Bill - Bass Guitar and Vocals

Started playing guitar with our first guitarist, Geoff in 1967 but after a couple of years took up the bass guitar so that they could get a band together - Gopher which then became the progressive rock band Nightfall. Following the demise of Nightfall, he joined another local guitarist Paul Mooney to form Joe Cool playing a gentler brand of rock covering bands like the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac.
By the end of 70's he was back with Geoff in the New Yorkers playing the working men's clubs in and around Hull before handing up his guitar for 20 years. However the lure of the bright lights and the chance to play classic rock covers joined Geoff out of retirement to form Crossfire, soon got back into the swing of things and is enjoying his playing more than ever.
Influences: Very varied but listens to anything with quality (except punk or rap!). Musical heroes include Brian Wilson, Todd Rundgren and Frank Zappa.
Equipment: A rather nice 1974 Rickenbacker 4000 and a nearly new Fender Jazz which get the most action due to the more dynamic sound. Peavey 700 Max bass amp and custom built cabs a 4 x 10 and a 1 x 18 which together can rattle your teeth.

Vinny - Rhythm Guitar and Vocals
|
Started playing at the age of around 10 or 11 on his dads guitars. On leaving school joined that hardcode band Septix. Around 1992 formed fun metal band Klunfutt which after a few years became the very serious band Vest recording some live and studio demo's with record company interest. He ran the Highway acoustic night with VIP.
Eventually he left the music scene to pursue his other countless hobbies including skateboarding for 10 years. Now a keen snowboarder and wakeboarder he has also played rugby league at the top amateur level. And lets not forget the Enduro bike racing and carp fishing. Now settled into the more leisurely pace of Crossfire.Likes: Most rock music - mainly 90's rock/grunge (thinks this has not been improved on yet!), Pearl Jam, Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden.Dislikes: Oven pizzas, bitter, footballers who dive, farmers
Equipment: Gordon Smith Custom Les Paul. Peavey Classic amp, Ovation acoustic.
